Leader or Manager

My friend Dr David Robinson says it best.

“It’s called follow the leader, not the manager.”

Managers are rewarded for reducing costs and reaching quotas. Leadership is about developing people and team wins.

Managers put people on the cost side of the ledger. Leaders view them as assets.

Managers value people for what they do. Leaders value people for who they are.

I think we could be well served when we introduce Nikken to others by following David’s thoughts. We get to serve people best by leading, not managing.

August 13, 2022  Patience Yields Power

We’ve all heard the phrase ‘good things come to those who wait’ yet I truly believe we could substitute the word ‘great’ instead of ‘good’.

As our family approaches 30 years of enjoying every aspect of Nikken, we continually see how this principle comes with every aspect of the 5 Pillars of Wellness. As humans, it’s only natural to want instant results with anything, but the greater things in life don’t come instantly.

As we usually do during the warmer days or summer, our family will plan to head to the river for refreshment. Our youngest daughter worked very hard and was extremely patient with studying, quizzing, and then finally answering the 75 questions to receive her boaters certification. Big words are not easy for her and neither are terms, but the look on her face when she scored 92% will be an image that I’ll never forget. Now, when she’s on the river, she gets to enjoy the horse power of our families Personal Water Crafts or PWC’s as she came to know them.

In Nikken, whether we’re looking for a fast product result, brilliant mental breakthrough, financial/business advancement, or simply a more balanced life, we have to remember that the power will come. The only reason why the successful experience more power is because they’re willing to be patient AS they do the things that the successful people do. If a 12 year old who struggles with bid words and often flip-flops letters to completely change a words meaning can score 92% on a major exam, we can be patient to yield the power of Nikken in ALL the 5 Pillars.

Presenting the Present (ers)

From an unbelievable monthly Kick-Off call to texts, emails, zooms, and every other type of communication chats this week, my life is overflowing with amazing nuggets that have inspired me beyond belief. I guess when I decided to call our company Wellness Beyond Belief 28 years ago, it was as if I was charting a course to really run on.

Yesterday on Wellness Begins at Home, Brody Craney talked about how important ALL the components of the wellness home(including water) are to maintaining proper weight. The stories shared were awesome, but it was his comment about adding healthy habits on top of our other healthy habits that got me thinking about all these fabulous presenters. When we present the presenters to others, our lives will become a present to be opened and enjoyed.

Ricarda & Alexander Russ are my favorite presenters this week from ‘across the pond’. Hailing from northern Germany, this young couple has been living Humans Being More like most only dream of. They constantly have creative ideas that they implement and Nikken has only accelerated the results. ‘Success loves speed’ is a motto that they shared with me when we enjoyed a video chat a few days ago. This couple is successful in so many ways and the speed of that success is seen in them constantly earning all the top awards in Nikken.
