Sharpening the Axe

Click Here to Listen to this weeks call. Janice wasn't with us so Vance gave us some relevant council. This week in his email he wrote:

Janice Miller is one of those individuals that thought retirement meant refirement. She became a teacher a quarter century later than most (at 52) because she wanted to help others so it wasn’t a question of sharing Nikken after her own experience with the products. Having met 'Mr Arthur' at 40 she was restricted from dancing the way she wanted to. Today in her 70's she can cut a rug like people half her age." We look forward to having her on the call August 20th instead.

Sharpening the Axe

There’s a story of a young logger who just got hired and was eager to impress a the men in the woods. He had the newest tools and a brand new axe. His first day he swung and swung until he dropped 18 of the old growth trees. The next day, wanting to surpass that number, he started an hour earlier and yet was only able to fall 12 trees. Extremely frustrated he started two hours earlier the next day and stayed in the woods an extra hour as well. Still, he was only able to see 6 trees hit the ground that day. The following day it was even worse when he started two hours earlier than normal and worked till dark falling only four trees.

That night while swapping stories with some of the boys at the local watering hole, he shared his frustration of diminishing numbers. He just couldn’t understand why when he spent more time in the forest why he was losing ground. Boy was he ever shocked when the group began chuckling as he vented. Not seeing the humor in this situation, he slammed his drink down in protest. Finally, one of ol’ timers grinned as he said, ‘You worked harder, but not smarter. Not once did you say anything about taking the time to stop and sharpen your axe. Although you were spending more time chopping, you were doing it with a dull blade!’

The iCan program that is launching it’s next 90 day cycle is a way that we can stop to sharpen our axes as Nikken Consultants. The graduation call yesterday was filled with amazing testimonies of activity, both in Customer numbers and personal growth. Check out the website and see if this is something you’re willing to commit to for the next three months. I’m eager to see what’s going to happen in my own life and in our group.

www.icanattitude.com is where you need to go. Registration cut-off is next Tuesday at midnight. The weekly instructional call is every Wednesday at 4:30pm (PDT) and lasts exactly 30 minutes. There is homework everyday and a $90 cost. This is but a fraction of what this course is worth when I compare it with others available in the industry.

So if you’re looking for a way to sharpen your axe, then iCan is the perfect tool!
