"October 15th, 2015

Ready, Fire, Aim


The first time I heard those words in that order I remember the concept that Ruth Williams taught me and others. We can accomplish more with passion than we can with focus and serious pondering. The anxiousness I feel right now about what is coming our way is about to make me go nuts.

It's the comments I keep hearing from those in the know or those who are actually using products being introduced next week. It's the anticpation of every Wellness Consultant having a website after November 1st. It's knowing what we get to re-introduce an entirely new set of prices to our Customers. All these things should have us firing in more directions than we ever have before. 

We can aim later. Let's band together and start firing.

Listen to October 10, 2015 Call   Vance wrote in has email this week: Clarification is greatly needed during any season of change. When I look outside at the leaves on the trees, I know that in a few weeks the east wind is going to start blowing and those leaves will be on the ground ready for me to remove. While I thought I had all the Nikken changes figured out, I've come to discover that there were a few that needed clarification. I want to address these as well as share some ways that we're already implementing to totally embrace the exciting changes coming our way both in November and January.

"October 9th, 2015 


'Is this supposed to be fun?' (Hudson-age 5)

Volunteering in a Kindergarten leaves little room for boredom. Conducting math assessments with young people who are at the very beginning of their education is rewarding in ways that I cannot even describe.

I kept hearing Hudson's question in my mind while on the phone, texting, sending emails and during my appointments this week. If there was something that wasn't necessarily fun at first, then I'd find a way to make it fun.

Counting to a hundred may not be fun for a five year old and neither are a lot of the things that we get to do during our normal routine. If there's not a way to make it fun, then maybe we need to consider switching tasks or not do it at all. After all, one-third of our life is spent working so we might need to find a way to make it enjoyable. We don't need to be like the 15% of Americans that consider quitting their jobs every week."

"October 1st, 2015

'An un-examined life is not worth living'. - Plato

Rachel Dayton was one of the field leaders who contributed to the leadership call this week.  'I've become a better person since Ben Woodward took the helm as president.  I'm challenging myself more and the payoff has been huge.'

I couldn't agree with her more.  When we daily examine what we're doing and seek ways to increase the output, then life seems to continually get better.  

This is what Kaizen is all about.  The more we get out there and seek ways to impact others, the more we get out of life.  With some significant changes coming our way during the next few months, this is a very rewarding time to increase the exposure of Nikken.  I wanna be one who inspects my life every day so I can leave a little piece of me with others that cross my path.

Vance emailed this week: "As we finish up the first nine months of Nikken 2.0, I'm quite excited about what lies ahead.  When we look back at what the mentoring process has accomplished as well as the Quality Enrollment program, I am absolutely thrilled at the steady growth in our team.  There are several things that were shared on this weeks leadership call that I want to highlight and hear from those of you who are creating the stories that motivate us all.

Are you ready?

Next Thursday starts a whole new cycle for Nikken.  There is a sense of expectation brewing for October 1st almost like Christmas morning for a young child.  Well, maybe it’s not that strong, but it's definitely starting a groundswell.

Ben Woodward will kick off the month with a special call for Platinums & above and then we'll have the regular Field Kick-Off call at 6:00 that night.  If you're interested in having the best intel to share Nikken with others, then this call will be a must.

Based on what Ben shared last March in Orlando at the 40th anniversary convention, we're expecting some significant enhancements to the website and a simplification to the Quality Enrollment program.  And then later in the month in San Antonio we'll have some new products to really spice things up.

I think the key is letting both our Customers and Consultants know that new things are coming.  It's hard to imagine things much better than what we have, but research always improves both our product offering and the ability we have to present it to others.

These are two questions that I challenged myself with this week after taking part in the leadership call with Ben Woodward.  We've seen some fantastic growth and yet I still know that I can give more in order to gain more.

DUK - The Godfather of Attention Getters

Royal Diamond Herb Rapp describes Nikken's newest product this way due to its amazing ability to grab a persons attention within seconds.  I couldn’t agree more.  Yesterday while having breakfast with a friend, he asked me if the DUK would help with his arthritis in his shoulders.  Without even responding verbally, I simply removed two of the pre-cut pieces from my gear bag and applied them across his shoulders

About 45 seconds later, Doug put down his fork and with a look of intense amazement said, 'I'm sold!  How much does that cost, how long will it last and how soon can I get more?'

Vance emailed this week: "What are those things that can be tweaked in our lives and what’s the greatest hurdle we face in introducing others to Nikken?  Do you ask this question?  I've been asking this more seriously of myself and challenging others to do the same.  The results during these last few months have been astounding.  We're seeing wonderful growth in our Customer and Consultant base due to this constant challenge.  And the real fun part has been seeing others experience the same.

Patriot Day

It's been 14 years since nearly 3,000 people lost their lives because a few people decided to make an impact using terror as their weapon of choice.  While we pay tribute to those families, our family has a little different outlook on this 11th day of September.  Half-way around the globe in the country of Ethiopia they celebrate this day as their new year.  It's a completely different calendar than the one we're used to so most of their dates are shifted from ours.

When I introduce people to Nikken, I find myself talking about culture and the role it plays in the choices we make.  Our culture has been radically shifted because of events that took place 14 years ago.  Our family and many of you who are reading this have adapted our cultures due to the concept of Kaizen and what it means to live a life of self-improvement.

What can we do today to improve ourselves so that we can make a better contribution to those around us?  That's the question I find myself asking not only on this, Patriot Day, but every day when I rise from my Naturest Sleep System.  If I can tweak a few things, then not only will I help myself and my family, but I truly believe that I can contribute to those around me."

‘Done.  YOU GOT 1’

That text came through at 11:03 pm on the last day of August.  To be honest, I’d come to terms with where things were and felt comfortable with our month end totals.  I went to bed.  Leave it to a long-term friend like Steve Crofoot to kick me in the rear and not settle for what’s comfortable by pushing me a little further.

Steve and Carol have been friends of ours for years and he has labored endlessly creating, recording, posting, and doing just about everything to continue getting the message of Nikken out to others.  I’m just grateful to have friends that refer to me as their ‘non boss’ as we strive together impacting lives.  Steve’s the one who has taken a little known conference call like Saturday AM Live and developed it into the great weekly broadcast that it is.
